- Open Start.
- Search for Create a restore point, and click the result System Properties.
Under "Protection Settings," select the main system drive, and click the Create button.
Enter a description to identify the restore point.

Restore your computer when Windows starts normally
In the case you come across any issues, before reinstalling Windows 10, you roll back changes using a restore point to get up and running again.
- Open Start.
- Search for Create a restore point, and click the result System Properties.
- Click the System Restore button, then click Next.
Click the Restore Point that you want to use, then click Next.
Click Finish to restore your computer to a previous point.
Restore your computer when Windows cannot start normally
- Turn off the computer and wait at least 5 seconds with the computer in a full off state.
- Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key, about once every second, until you see the Windows loading screen.
- On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced Options.
- On the Advanced options screen, click System Restore.
- Click the Restore Point that you want to use, then click Next
- Click Finish to restore your computer to a previous point.
